All eligible award candidates must have a faculty appointment as of July 1, 2009. Candidates must have completed a specialty internal medicine fellowship leading to certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology for certain awards) and be a US citizen or have applied for permanent US resident status.
Career Development Plan
Eligible candidates must also submit a career development plan focused on the geriatric aspect of their specialty. The plan must include organizing and interacting with a mentorship team comprised of a geriatrician, a research mentor, and one other member. The research mentor is the leader of this team. The plan must also include specific measures for the continued involvement in structured geriatrics activities. For an example of a career development plan, click here.
