The alliance is committed to advancing internal medicine education across the continuum of training. The alliance aims to influence institutional and federal policies to ensure high-quality, evidence-based medicine is taught by highly qualified faculty. AAIM's advocacy focuses on ensuring departments of internal medicine receive the appropriate guidance and resources to effectively educate physicians-in-training. AAIM monitors federal policy regarding changes to graduate medical education funding as well as federal and non-governmental regulations that affect the academic internal medicine community.
