The US research enterprise is critical to improving the nation's health and advancing the quality of patient care. Departments of Medicine at US medical schools and teaching hospitals, through collaborations with the National Institutes of Health, Department of Veterans Affairs, other federal agencies, and non-profit entities and programs, conduct a significant portion of this research, which is uniquely translated from "the bench to the bedside." AAIM is committed to the future of clinical research through supporting these collaborations and sustaining the survival and growth of the physician-scientist workforce.
