The alliance supports strategically increasing the physician workforce to meet current and future needs.  As the nation responds to a projected shortage of physicians, AAIM explores methods to attract physicians-in-training to careers in internal medicine and supports federal or institutional strategies to place physicians in geographic areas of need.
